New Year's Eve
I have chosen my favourite red mani with matching toes for New Year's Eve. I've worn this quite a few times during the year, but not blogged about it as this is new venture which only started 2-3 months ago!
This is OPI Big Apple Red, two coats. It is very red with no discernible pink tinge like Nails Inc Special K Red. Followed by Ozotic Pro 518 a gorgeous red holographic. Then of course Seche Vite to ensure my nails were ultra glossy! (That's a palm tree you can see reflected in them)
Once again my camera is letting me down badly (I see a new Camera in my future). This mani is stunning in reality. And I think adding matching underwear to the Ozotic Pro holographic nail polishes really allows them to stand out!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, of all the trees most lovely
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, of all the trees most lovely
Each year you bring to me delight, meaning in the Christmas night
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, of all the trees most lovely
Well my mani this Christmas is inspired by every Christmas tree, that has been bedecked possibly to extreme and is very sparkly and bright!
As you can see this is Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear #10 Emerald city, three coats to have the lovely green colour you can see in the bottle.
With OPI Rainbow Connection from the Muppet's Collection standing in for the fairy lights and baubles!
Merry Christmas to You and Yours,
May it be Safe and Happy

Picture Polish Festival
This is another from the Models Prefer 18 piece polish set, Little Black Dress, its a black one coater!
With not one, not two, but three coats of Picture Polish Festival over the top followed by Seche Vite top coat.
How pretty are all the flakes? I actually like this polish more than I was expecting to from the promo shots! My nails are now like black opals and just gorgeous.
I know its out of focus but I still think this is a beautiful picture of an incredible polish.
Sparkly and Pretty!
Well my first Nails Inc polish arrived and it is far too pretty to sit in a drawer somewhere! The crystal caps are all limited editions, and I adore them.
This is an Exclusive for Special K and these pictures seem to be showing the red a bit pink! The red colour is practically the same colour as the crystals decorating the bottle.
The application was flawlessly smooth and silky, and was fully opaque in one coat, perfect if you need to get ready in a hurry. This was two coats tho plus Seche Vite top coat. If I remember rightly this was day 3 with no chipping or peeling.

Has Summer Finally Started?
When I came home from work today the sun was shining! So straight away, and without even stopping for coffee, I went and took the following pictures of the mani I have been wearing since Saturday!
This is Nubar Purple Aster from their Spring Garden Collection, with Ozotic Pro 606 layered over the top, as I find the Ozotic Pro holographic's a bit sheer.
They seem to be an made for each other, both being lilac. And by having the Nubar Purple Aster underneath, the Ozotic Pro 606 was really able to do what it does best and that is stand out and scream look at me!
The holographic is scattered rather than linear, and these pictures are not showing its true brilliance!

Rain Again!!
No sun or decent light due to the rain means I have had to have the same mani now for a whole week! People have noticed too!!
On Monday I wore Girls Night Out from the Models Prefer gift set of 18 (5ml) nail polishes for $20. I must say this is a brilliant way to try brands or colours without needing to make expensive mistakes: gives Chanel Peridot a hard stare! Girls Night Out is a purple with a blue shimmer and is very pretty by itself.
But on Monday night bored and with no sun to brighten my days, I chose to add one layer of OPI Mad As A Hatter over my mani. And on Friday the sun actually shone whilst I was waiting for my train so I was able to take these pictures.
If I had to chose between OPI Mad As A Hatter and Rainbow Connection, it would have to be MAAH which is more like twinkling fairy lights as opposed to the megawatt voltage of Rainbow Connection!

Back in the Day
Everyone has written about their first nail polish, so I thought I would too!
Well many, many (too many to actually remember if truth be told) moons ago, I used to constantly, and when I say constantly I mean week in and week out, wear a pink Mavala nail polish. Not just any old Pink but the coldest pink you ever did see, that looked even colder in the moonlight.
And last week while I was out picking up Models Prefer set of 18 nail polishes, I came across this-
Essie #740 French Affair, whilst I couldn't say for sure its the same as my old Mavala Polish I picked it up anyway to join the only other pink in my stash which is the old Ozotic Pro 601 . I ended up wearing this for about five days, and these pictures were probably taken on day three.
This took three coats as the first was very streaky, followed by Seche Vite top coat.

How many favourite Blues can one have?
I love the colour Blue in all its many tones and even if there is a tinge of blue showing then I'm there. My favourite Blue polish of all time is OPI Blue My Mind, every time I wear it, and I've worn it for over a week before now (that's what I call dedication), everyone has something to say about it.
Anyway, on to today's polish which will be joining my list!
Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle #5 a gorgeous Sapphire Blue with red and blue sparkles. It dries a bit matte, so definitely needs a top coat to make it glossy and then you can really see just how glossy and sparkly this polish can be.
The application is very good, I put on two coats followed by a Seche Vite top coat.
Skin Food is another Korean polish that I purchased from www.ebay.com
I also bought Skin Food Pedicure Sparkle #8, a teal green colour (which is on my toes and not for public consumption at this time).

Rain Rain Go Away!
Anybody would think I was back in London, what with the grey skies and pouring rain, but no, this has been Sydney for the last week!
No sun means you missed out on a swatch of Essence Colour & Go Time For Romance, a darker pink than China Glaze Material Girl.
Anyway, on to today when the sun shone and all was right with the world once again. Remember I said I loved/hated Chanel Peridot and if ever I found a colour that was leaf green and shifted to a cold blue I would snap it up in an instant. Then let me introduce you to Missha Crystal Nail Polish HGR01 Green from Korea.
Green, although in the sun it takes on a gold colour which is not as warm as Chanel Peridot's or as prominent.
Leaf Green equals yummy!
Getting colder!
And freezing! I'm so in love with this polish.
Now I'm just left wondering what if this polish and Chanel Peridot were mixed? Would that not be awesome?

Gosh Holographic!!
Off out tonight to an Important Event at a Swanky Location, what to choose......
It was a choice between Gosh Holograpic and Chanel Graphite, having already ruled out Ozotic Pro 509.
There were two films on TV last night Victoria and Elizabeth, so I had plenty of time to devote to this mani. And time enough to change it to Chanel Graphite if the results were the same as last time (an epic fail).
And it seems time is what you need for Gosh Holographic! I let each coat completely dry before adding the next one. This is two coats over the Aqua Base Coat.
The application was flawless, compared to last time where I didn't wait too long between coats.
Followed by two top coats of Seche Vite as I do NOT want this to chip at all! In some of these pictures you can see the rainbow effect, but that's nothing to seeing it in Real Life.

OPI Rainbow Connection equals Love!
This is OPI Rainbow Connection part of their Muppet Collection.
This is so bright and glittery! and you can see just how glittery by the reflections shown in the following photos.
This is large and small glitter pieces with the predominate colour being silver, and then the rainbow of other colours in equal quantities.
Three coats gave full coverage and really blinged out my nails. Young children were especially enthralled by this, and the adults thought it very christmassy.

Across the Universe?
No! this is not Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe!
This is Essence Colour and Go Blue Addicted.
I'm assuming that this nail polish is a dupe! Having only seen swatches online of Deborah Lippmann's Across the Universe, I wouldn't be able to say it is for sure. And at $2.55 for a 5ml bottle of polish as opposed to the high price of Deborah Lippmann polishes I am more than happy with this pretty polish.
I found this brand in Target, and the bottles are so sweet, with matching colour tops to the polish. I didn't stop at buying just the one bottle of polish.

Something in the Air!
This is Nubar Blue Hydranga with, can you guess?
Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air. This is pink and blue glitter in a milky blue base, which applies practically clear. There are three sizes of glitter, large, tiny and teensy!
Whilst this combination is very pretty, I can not cope with the sparseness of the Glitter, this was two coats by the way. The randomness of the glitter just kills me.
And a close up, you can see all three sizes of glitter in the bottle, and just about see them on the nail.

Kleancolor Metallic Mango #159
Well I never thought I would wear orange nail polish! But I adore this colour.
This is Kleancolor Metallic Mango #159
This colour really seems to glow on the nail and looks to have a lot of depth to it. This particular Kleancolor applied beautifully.
And I found the last patch of sunshine of the day to take these photos. This colour is so summery and bright and sure to put you in a good mood, that it has become a new favourite!

Introducing Minstrel!
This is Minstrel, taking inspiration form Cathy at morenailpolish.blogspot.com and her Frosted Chocolate Cake recipe. This is Ultra3 Chocolate Cake, Ultra3 Black Satin, Clear Nail Polish and Spectra Flair.
I've called it Minstrel for two reasons: the first, in the UK there are chocolates called Minstrels that are like grown up Smarties. Minstrels have a hard chocolate coloured candy shell which is very shiny. The second and more important reason is that my chocolate/black cat was called Minstrel because he had chocolate coloured pads that looked like Minstrels!
In the sunlight the Spectra Flair sparks into life.
