Chanel Peridot ~ A Love Hate Relationship!

Chanel Peridot, is it Love or Hate? I can tell you, though, I still haven't decided!

The lovely green part I absolutely adore! And if ever a nail polish was made in this green with a touch of blue I would snap it up in an instant.

The green gold colour, yes I'm still loving it.

Now the hard part, Gold! I'm not feeling the love! I just don't think gold works with my skin tone.

More pictures, I like this old gold look

I adore this colour!

And back to gold!
To top it off I bought three bottles because it was love at first sight in the shop, and I thought I would be wearing it almost constantly. As it is, sometimes I can wear it for days, other times it doesn't even last the day out, due to my love/hate relationship with it.
Chanel Peridot what is to become of you?

Faded Denim!

Well I didn't use my Spectraflair Franken, instead I layered one coat of Ozotic Pro 509 over Picture Polish Denim.

This stopped some lilac colour and the flakes from showing through. Ozotic Pro 509 made the Denim paler and more silvery. I'm still not 100% taken with the colour tho.

Using Ozotic Pro 509 as a holographic topcoat, however, went some way towards making Picture Polish Denim a bit more bearable!
Wisteria, the other Picture Polish I bought on the Coles/Woman's Day special offer, is a whole different story to be told next time.

Picture Polish Denim

This is a lovely dark periwinkle blue colour, with tiny silver, blue and lilac flakes in it. It is not a true flakie like Nubar 2010.

I would have liked it much better if the colour was bluer, more like faded denim. It dries a bit matte and you definitely need a top coat to make it glossy.

Whilst this colour is very pretty, the longer I wear it the more I think "nothing spectacular is going on here"
Spectra Flair Franken its time to do your stuff!

Ozotic Pro 509, I Love You!

Ozotic Pro in all its glory in the sunshine.

I have Gosh Holographic and I have never been happy with my mani after a day or two. Ozotic Pro 509 on the other hand is gorgeous, this is day 2 and there are no imperfections. (My hands are on show all day at work, and people are watching closely too!)

Whilst Gosh Holographic is an absolute bitch to put on, needing the Aqua Base, before it even thinks about staying put, and a bad brush not making the application any easier, Ozotic Pro 509 is a dream to use!

An English Rose in Sydney!

Raking around in the Ultra3 bin the other day at my local chemist I came across a bottle of polish that I could not ignore! I had to have it, at any price! (currently $2.25 for 1 or $6 for 3)

Let me introduce you to Ultra3 English Rose. This colour is scarlet with gold flecks, which show up really well in the bottle. On the nail this adds sparkle and makes your nails look very glossy. I would say Ultra3 is comparable to OPI or Picture Polish for formula and brushes.

A full sunlight picture where you can see the gold in the bottle. Australian made Ultra3 you have surpassed yourself with this one!

Spectra Flair Franken, Sparkling in Sunshine

I use this topcoat whenever I get bored with my mani, the Spectra Flair Franken topcoat puts off my changing the colour for another couple of days... sometimes longer if its sunny!

This as you remember is Kleancolor Metalic Purple, with Ozotic Pro 506 and now topped off with my Franken.

In this picture you can actually see the purple colour I was raving about.

And the sunshine makes everything so much better!!

Ozotic Pro 506

Unfortunately the sun is not shining so these are all taken with a flash. And furthermore how hard is it to pick up purple on a camera, I ask you? Extremely hard, subsequently these photos are not showing the beauty that is Ozotic Pro 506 in all its glory!

Teal greeny blue? Yes it has that!

Shimmer? Yes beautiful little flashes when the light catches it.

Here you can just about make out all colours on the nail, teal, blue and violet which turns a hot pinkish colour if the sun ever gets to it and you hold your nails in just the right position!

More photos just in case you missed the blue/teal colour

The blue colour

The violet colour.
These nail polishes are lovely to use and the brush is divine making for an immaculate mani.

Today I'm going to top off this mani with my Spectra Flair Franken topcoat. Which is OPI base coat with fine grade Spectra Flair (all I had at the time) since improved with Spectra Flair course grade, a small amount of a white frost nail polish to help the Spectra Flair stay in suspension and topped up with a clear polish due to too much Spectra Flair being added!

Kleancolor Metallic Purple #167

This is a gorgeous purple! When I first put this colour on I was a bit "no, this is doing nothing for me" It goes on the bottle colour and its only when the top coat was going on that I was stunned by the beauty of this colour emerging! Its quite thick and gloopy to apply and now that I have seen the true depth of the colour I will definitely use this again!

Tomorrow I will be layering Ozotic Pro 506 over it and I can already imagine peacock feathers!

Chanel Graphite

This is Chanel Graphite, it is gorgeous!

If I had to choose between Chanel Peridot and Graphite I would definitely choose Graphite. It is a dark  silver colour with gold flecks in it. I would describe the colour as a burnished metallic steel silver. And in the sunlight I couldn't help myself constantly looking at my mani.

Chanel Graphite is sooooooooooooooo glassy, glossy, shiny, and reflective; if I could use any more adjectives I would. The formula is a dream to use and does not leave brush strokes unlike Peridot.

And in this shot you can pick out the gold specks. These pictures have all been taken with a flash after  I got back from my Great Nephew's Christening. I didn't even think to capture this beauty in the sunshine even tho I had my camera with me!

Old Version Ozotic Pro 601

The first half of the week I was wearing the Frosted Chocolate Cake Franken recipe without the copper sparkles copied from Kitties26 of http://morenailpolish.blogspot.com/ fame. Full time work and bad weather equals no swatch, which is a pity as it is such a beautiful polish.

I then changed to this gorgeous colour,Ozotic Pro 601, which I have since found out again from http://morenailpolish.blogspot.com/ that this version is no longer available! How could you, Ozotic Pro, change a colour that I love?

With flash on day 3 or 4 of wearing I can't remember which.

And the sun shone briefly enough for a picture in sunlight. You will have to ignore the huge indentations from where my acrylic nails have been removed, I didn't realize just how bad it was.

Tomorrow it is my Great Nephew's Christening, I know what I am wearing but decisions, decisions what to put on my tips? Chanel Peridot because its Chanel or Gosh Holographic because its silvery GORGEOUSNESS?
Well I went shopping and its going to be Chanel Graphite!!

Sally Hansen, Hard as Nails CELEB CITY #220

Here is a lovely silver foil the same colour as White Gold! and so easy to apply.

On the nails taken with the flash on (because i have no idea how to remove it, being one of those camera's that does everything for you!)
