Picture Polish Blog Fest 2012

I was so excited to have been selected to take part in the once a year world wide phenomena that is the Picture Polish Blog Fest. I couldn't wait to see what colours the girls at Picture Polish had chosen for me to review. And here they are Orbit and Pshiiit and let me tell you they did not disappoint.

Firstly Orbit is a new ‘Mesh’ shade and will be available from Picture Polish on-line and from all Network members! In the bottle it looks very silvery but wait until you get it on your nails the colour is to die for! It is that midnight blue with a touch of purple and the sparkle is truly out of this world! Orbit has been well named!

So on to my mani, Orbit was opaque in one coat but I used two and I also used Seche Vite top coat in order to make the sparkles really shine. Orbit didn't really need a top coat as the blue and silver glitter is very glittery, but I like my nails to be super glossy too!

And onto the second colour, Pshiiit is also new and very special as it is from Picture Polishes new ‘Collaboration Collection’ and was jointly created by Camille from Pshiiit Boutique (Picture Polishes French Network member) and Picture Polish.  It is an exclusive to Picture Polish on-line and Pshiiit Boutique – how exciting!! Pshiiit is definitely a beautiful true teal colour with glass flecks in just to keep it interesting. Although in this picture the sunlight seems to be drowning them out a little.

So on to my mani, three coats of Pshiiit as the formulae on this was a bit on the thin side, but it builds up to a beautiful glossy colour followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

Picture Polish can be found on Face Book, Pinterest and Twitter plus each bottle has a QR label which you can scan and it will take you straight to Picture Polish on-line or a Network member where you can make your purchase, how cool is that?

Ozotic Pro 520 ReVisited!

I was going out for a special occasion for work and having decided on my outfit, I then had to decide on my polish! The last time I wore said outfit, I was gutted that my Ozotic Pro 520 hadn't arrived in time (it was waiting at the post office to be picked up) and I had to go out with lilac nails. I shudder now at the memory, because I ran out of time and couldn't change my polish. If I remember rightly I was hunting for my crackle (as we were practically walking out the door) to tone it down a bit but couldn't find that either! So what better opportunity to see if the two would go together as well as I thought they would. Long story short, they did! This mani was two coats of Ultra3 Chocolate Cake and only one coat of Ozotic Pro 520 followed by Seche Vite top coat. Using just the one coat of Ozotic Pro 520 made my mani more russet and the colour shift wasn't as obvious.

And here is a comparison picture of a previous mani using two coats of Ozotic Pro 520 which heightens the colour change making it more golden which I now prefer!

Cleo Give Away!

When I heard Cleo were giving away a Nails Inc polish with their August issue, well you couldn't keep me from high tailing it down to the newsagents to grab my bargain ($18 polish for about $8). There were three polishes to choose from Cleopatra's Kiss a dark grey silvery colour, Bag a Bachelor a pale pinky nude colour or We heart Ita a neon pinky orange colour. I choose We heart Ita as I thought getting Cleopatra's Kiss was the safe option (read I have too many silvers!). Although I am thinking of going to get the silver and I'm afraid the pale pink just did not make the cut at all.

So on to my mani, two coats of the buttery smooth Nails Inc We heart Ita, a beautiful neonish orange which actually has a bit more pink in it then shows up here. Very beautiful on its own, but could I leave it there? as if that is ever a question! So two coats of the holographic multi shaped Darling Diva Too Schmexxxy which I believe is a dupe for the Lynnderella Shape Shifter followed by Fabulous Triple Tough Gel and then a top coat of Seche Vite. And once again no sun to show off this very glittery mani! Summer hurry up, we need the sun to come back.

Jubilation!

The second I saw this bottle appear on the internet I was drooling and I knew I had to have it! I mean glitter in a crystal cap bottle, what's not to like? So now it's in my possession and does it live up to expectations? Yes, make that a resounding YES!

So without further ado let me introduce you to Nails Inc Limited Edition Jubilee, a polish Nails Inc created for the Queen's Jubilee. Not quite red white and blue, it is in fact scarlet, silver and sky blue glitter in a clear base. And it is just so pretty!

Shade
On to my mani then, two coats of Nails Inc Jubilee which has great coverage by the way, and then Seche Vite top coat to make everything glassy smooth.

I'm Back With Reef Fish!

Well my pink toes and blue fingers went down a storm with Mr3 and Miss2, both claiming ownership of said digits! And now I'm back missing them like crazy, so I thought what would they like? And came up with Darling Diva Polish Reef Fish, which is a multi coloured, multi shaped glitter in a turquoise base. Darling Diva Polish sells on etsy for about $8 I just love her motto typed on to all the bottle labels "Happy Girls are the Prettiest Girls. Be Happy!" Which is certainly a motto to live by!

So what undies to wear with it? Layla Ocean Rush seemed appropriate in name and colour, being a turquoise blue holographic polish reviewed here, so welcome to my ocean fish themed nails. This was two coats Layla Ocean Rush and two coats of Darling Diva Polish Reef Fish and two coats of Seche Vite to smooth it all out. Very bright and glittery but unfortunately no sun to show it off to it's full advantage.

I'm On My Holiday's!

I'm on my holiday's visiting Mr3 and Miss2 and in honour of the occasion I had Butter London Disco Biscuit on my toes and Chi Chi Fashionista on my mitts. Chi Chi is a lovely turquoise colour showing up very blue in this picture. This was two coats followed by the obligatory Seche Vite top coat.

Anyway on to the important stuff, Mr3 had made this lovely picture using lots of glitter!

And not to be outdone Miss2 was using practically every animal she could lay her hands on. I'll be sorry to have to leave them.

Mint Anyone?

Mint green is a colour I have avoided all my life! And yet whilst I was in the local discount chemist the other day this particular bottle of polish called my name and I could not refuse. This colour is absolutely gorgeous and I can't believe it has taken me so long to embrace mint green.

So what colour is it, well it is a pastel mint green with a green shimmer which does show up on the nail if you are looking closely. The only downside to this polish is that it is so sheer, if you want just a wash of colour then this is for you. This goes on nice and smooth and you can build up the colour. Also it is quite long wearing, I wore this for three or four days without any adornment (glitter) whatsoever!

So on to my mani, I had to use five coats to achieve this level of opacity! And then the obligatory top coat of Seche Vite.

Lynnderella Nosegay

My last Lynnderella to show you, and I must say I'm not that overly enamoured by Lynnderella Nosegay either. Which might be down to the fact that I just can not decide what to layer it over due to its milky white/violet base.

Here I have chosen to layer it over three coats of Kleancolor Metallic White, which doesn't look metallic at all in the bottle or on the nail! Then three coats of Lynnderella Nosegay which has lilac, purple and pink squares and specks of glitter in the said milky white/violet base. The glitter in this particular Lynnderella is quite sparse compared to other Lynnderella's. And then two coats of Seche Vite to smooth everything out.

OPI Black Spotted in Sydney

I'm sorry to say that OPI Black Spotted is ONLY available in France and will not be released anywhere else! How cruel is that? If you don't like shatter polish, which I personally do not, then this would be perfect because as it dries spots form.

As soon as I got my bottle I was straight out into the garden to take pictures, and such was my excitement I didn't clean up as much as I could have! So please excuse that and the lack of handcream to soften out the dry cuticles.

So on to my mani, this is two coats of Chi Chi Cat Fight, another find from Myer's sale bins for $2.50. Chi Chi Cat Fight is a lovely purple colour with a strong blue flash. One coat of Seche Vite and then one coat of OPI Black Spotted followed by Fabulous Triple Tough Gel as I have heard Black Spotted does not like Seche Vite.

OPI Black Spotted effect looks so much better in real life, isn't that always the way though. I thought my tips looked like a butterfly's wing.

And a bonus shot just because I love OPI Black Spotted so much!
