Christmas Nails

Christmas is a time for children and this seems more true than ever at the moment, so we were very glad that we were able to share this special time with Mr 4 and Miss 3 as they excitedly tore open their presents at some ungodly hour after Santa had visited.

Knowing that we would be gone for the week I decided upon a rather simple mani this year.

And this was the only half decent photo from my rushed photo shoot gggrrrrr. Two coats of the wondrous Chanel Malice and an accent of OPI The Man With The Golden Gun followed by a top coat of Seche Vite.

Future Reflections!

This is Enchanted Polish Future Reflections and there is not really much more I can say about this... it is just sooooo gorgeous!!! And it is so much more holographic in person with a blazing flame that is even more noticeable in real life.

You will have to excuse my middle finger the break has finally grown out! And you can see I tried stiletto nails which really shows off the blaze of holographic goodness. On to my mani then this was two coats of Enchanted Polish Future Reflections followed by one coat of Seche Vite which did not dull the holo flame at all.

Catching Up With Chanel!

Well this was one of those purchases that became a beautiful mistake! I ordered something else and got Chanel Infidele instead and then decided that this polish was worth keeping rather than go through the rigmarole of sending it back etc. etc. Chanel Infidele is in fact a Limited Edition from 2012 Fashion Night Out and is a beautiful mauve pink rose. It really does have the colour of a most perfect flower.

So on to my mani then two coats of Chanel Infidele pure perfection which really didn't need a top coat but you've guessed it I used the tried and true Seche Vite.

Blood and A Mother's Love!!

A strange title I know, so I will give you the background story. I had to go and have some blood tests and then they lost(?) my blood so I had to go back and do it all again!! So when Sophie of Femme Fatale Cosmetics  sent me some polish to review all I could think of when I saw Rainbow Honey Ruby Weapon in that tiny vial was: that looks like blood!!
Anyway moving rapidly on, I swear I was only going to swatch so I didn't prepare as much as I normally do. But Rainbow Honey Ruby weapon is so beautiful being a rich ruby red with copper and gold shimmer that I did all my nails.

Another polish I was sent was Girly Bits A Mother's Love which at the risk of repeating myself I swear I was only going to do an accent nail. I must have been faint from the lack of blood (ha ha) but I did one nail and thought that looks so pretty I then did the rest. And this mani I ended up wearing for the entire week!

So what is Girly Bits A Mother's Love? Well its chock-full of holographic pink and gold glitters of various shapes and sizes in a clear base. It also has a gold shimmer to it and includes pink holo hearts. I didn't know about the hearts until one got on my thumb. On to my mani then two coats of Rainbow Honey Ruby Weapon and one coat of Girly Bits A Mother's Love followed by a Seche Vite top coat.

A strange angle I know but you get to see the Girly Bits holographic goodness trying to out dazzle the Rainbow Honey shimmer!

If you would like your own Rainbow Honey or Girly Bits nail polish then please visit Femme Fatale Cosmetics besides the excellent service you will receive from Sophie you can also satisfy your lemmings for many other Indie polishes along with her own line of polishes which are all just gorgeous (of which I have a fair few myself).

Yes, Its That Time Of Year Again!!

Yes its that time of year again, when I head off up to the City to attend a very Swanky Do at an exclusive location! So what did I choose to put on my mitts this time? Well I chose LLarowe Twinkle Twinkle Little Star which is meant to be dead on dupe for Essie's Starry Starry Night.

And if that wasn't enough I chose to dab the new Revlon Celestial FX over the top as an accent nail. Revlon Celestial FX is a myriad of holographic stars moons and diamonds along with tiny holographic dust suspended in a clear base. This polish is a whole lot easier to use than the tiny silver star stickers I used to use in the eighties I can tell you!

On to my mani then three coats of LLarowe Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, which was quite thick to work with but had a lovely wide brush which meant I got the hang of it in the end. One coat of Revlon Celestial FX and then just a few extra pieces dabbed on. (To tell the truth I was quite surprised how many shapes where actually picked up with each brushful.) And then of course a top coat of Seche Vite.

Can There Be Anything Better Than Glitter?

Well yes there is actually!! Enchanted Polish duochrome holographic heaven in a bottle polish! Your nails will be blindingly awesome with both duochrome and holographic in the mix and Enchanted Polish possibly make the best there is.

Shade
This is Enchanted Polish Congratulations a beautiful rose brown colour shifting to gold plus of course those all important liner holographic particles. The colour change is very noticeable in real life and even in low light conditions this polish looks interesting. This was two coats of Enchanted Polish Congratulations followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

Now for the most important part, the lovely Sophie of Femme Fatale Cosmetics has been operating a wishlist system, because Enchanted Polish have acquired a bit of a cult following and now seem to be very hard to get hold of unless you are prepared to sell your Grandmother and pay evilbay prices!

Missing In Action!

What with full-time work and personal issues, I have been running out of time, big time! Although you could be forgiven thinking I had been abducted by aliens with this mani I was wearing sometime ago!!

So now that I have a spare minute or two here's what I have been sporting on my mitts two weeks ago. A England St George a delicious beautiful dark green scattered holographic polish, this was two coats and  it covered perfectly. I mean I just had to have this in my possession with a name like St George (patron saint of England).

And if that wasn't enough I added Emily de Molly Land of Confusion dots! Emily de Molly Land of Confusion is a beautiful grass green scattered holographic polish and I can't wait to use it as a mani by itself its that pretty!

All topped off with one coat of Seche Vite which did not dull the holographic sparkle at all.
I purchased these sometime ago from Sophie at Femme Fatale Cosmetics. They have many wonderful Indie nail polish lines there along with excellent customer service. Sophie really does go that extra mile for her customers!

Leopard Print!!

You may have noticed a trend in my recently held Giveaway (the winners have been picked and their parcels are on their way to them) which was leopard print, and I have found it is surprisingly easy to do as a mani! Mind you I had loads of people ask me how to do it and the best enquiry I had was "are those stickers"!! I have a very basic tutorial here and I am sure you can find many more in depth ones on the net.

OPI Hands Off My Kielbasa! was a surprise winner for me from the OPI Eurso Euro Collection, it has a gorgeous satin shot silk like effect and it is the most beautiful peachy bronze colour.

OPI My Vampire Is Buff an off white beige colour and has become another firm favourite of mine, and to think when I first got the OPI Eurso Euro collection these two colours were my least favourite but they are now the ones most used!! And the black is Kleancolor Metallic Black with a top coat of Seche Vite.

Let me introduce you to OPI Blue My Mind the most beautiful pearl mid toned blue with a touch of purple.

And as if that wasn't enough I topped it off with Shades Of Phoenix You're A Wizard the bonus polish that came with The Dark Arts Collection which is pink and blue glass flecks in a clear base. Followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

Shoot The Butterfly

Aww please don't! Well you needn't worry, no butterflies were harmed in the making of this particular post! Instead we have a long overdue post about Crows Toes Shoot The Butterfly part of the springTHIS collection. All I can say is that it is finally Spring in Australia so that is my tenuous link for today.

I choose to pair it with OPI A Womans Prague-Ative a beautiful rich shimmery orange similar to Kleancolor Metallic Mango. So on to my mani then two coats of OPI A Womans Prague-Ative, two coats of Crows Toes Shoot The Butterfly followed by one coat of Seche Vite.

Crows Toes Shoot The Butterfly is a wonderful concoction of orange, white and black glitters in a brownish base to represent the Red Admiral butterfly and is, as is always the way, far more stunning in real life!

Le Weekend! Painting Everyone Else's Nails!

We had our daughter and her family spend the weekend just gone with us, and as per usual everyone wanted their nails painted! Also I'm going to be using old photos here, as we did not get around to taking any new ones (my bad).

Miss 3 decided on pink because no other colour was going to cut the mustard! And she made an excellent choice of Ozotic Pro 901 a beautiful baby pink.

OMG how old is this photo? In case you are wondering its coming up to one year. Mr 4 decided upon Chanel Graphite because its grey and that's a boy's colour... No amount of explaining that it was a steel like silver was going to wash, so I give you Chanel Graphite grey.

My daughter was actually going out and leaving me in charge during the day (eek) and she wanted something special to wear and the only thing I could think of that was very special was Chanel Taboo.
I was actually wearing Enchanted Polish Electric Feel, which is just gorgeous by the way and you'll just have to take my word for that until I wear it again and get pictures! Suffice to say I can understand all the furore surrounding Enchanted Polishes.

Circque - Vesuvius

The  lovely Sophie from Femme Fatale Cosmetics recently sent me two nail polishes to review, the first review can be seen here. This then is my second and I really can't explain why its taken me so long to get around to Cirque Vesuvius. This is my first experience with Cirque polishes and it definitely won't be the last because the minute the brush hit my nails I knew this polish was going to be epic, and I was not disappointed either.

On to my mani then three coats of Cirque Vesuvius a beautiful strawberry holographic colour, two coats would have been more than enough but I did three as more is more allegedly! You can also see I was playing around stamping Kleancolor Metallic Black (I'm afraid my skills are not the best). Topped off with one coat of Seche Vite which did not dull the holographic flame at all!

If you would like your own Cirque nail polish then visit Femme Fatale Cosmetics besides the excellent service you will receive from Sophie you can also satisfy your lemmings for many other Indie polishes along with her own line of polishes which are all just gorgeous (of which I have a fair few myself).

Crazy Paving!!

Now you must all have seen crazy paving surely? Or perhaps its just a British thing?

I was actually intending to do something else but these looked super cute and I kept this mani on all week! And this mani got more than a few comments especially from the men thinking that this mani would have taken an age to do. When in fact it was super quick just sploshing on the colours and not being particularly careful with placement.

For this effect I used two creams and two glass flecks in sort of similar colours. The new Ulta3 Infamous a deep turquoise glass fleck and absolutely stunning.

and Striking a beautiful medium seagreen glass fleck

Covergirl Out Of The Blue and Vio-last. The Covergirls were one coaters, but I did two out of habit. And then a topcoat of Seche Vite.

These sunlight pictures show very strongly the demarcation lines, but in real life the colours blended together much more and the overall effect looked more complex.

Gloss 'n Sparkle Sleepy Head

Just a super quick post today featuring Gloss 'n Sparkle Sleepy Head and Covergirl Lav-endure. My local supermarket had loads of Covergirl polishes for $2 each so I bought far too many! And I have had Sleepy Head a beautiful lavender base with turquoise and fuchsia dots, small lavender and pink hexes and tiny purple dots for so long sitting in my untrieds, I thought it would make a welcome change to all the dark polishes I have been wearing lately. Plus this polish is perfect for the beautiful weather we have been having lately. For my mani I used two coats of Lav-endure and then two coats of Sleepy Head on my ring finger followed by a Seche Vite top coat, although really the Covergirl polishes do not need it they are so glossy.

Green Again!

After all the delicious greens I have been showing you (Shades of Phoenix Morsmordre, Girly Bits Emerald City Lights and Picture Polish Peacock) I thought you would like to see one more before I move on to something else.

And this is China Glaze Emerald Sparkle, it does exactly what the name says Emerald Sparkle! I don't own that many China Glaze's but I'm glad I have this one, the colour is exquisite. On to my mani then, three coats of China Glaze Emerald Sparkle and one Seche Vite top coat.

Beware Of The Dark Arts

So what are these new super gorgeous colours from Shades Of Phoenix? Well its Teneil's creator of Shades Of Phoenix newest collection "Beware Of The Dark Arts" based on Harry Potter spells! I have a tiny confession to make here, I have not read any of the books or watched any of the films in spite of my husband being a massive fan!  (So please don't shoot me if I show some ignorance) All I do know, is that this collection is divine.

Morsmordre

Wingardium Leviosa

Riddikulus

Lacarnum Inflamareae

Expelliarmus

There are six colours in the collection, but I have only shown you five, the sixth is Imperio which is black with holographic glitter, and I was saving that for its very own post!

On to my mani then, one coat of Covergirl Black Diamond, then two coats of the Shades Of Phoenix colour and then one quick coat of Seche Vite. My favourites out of this collection are the green, blue and red and of course the one I haven't tried yet Imperio.
What are your favourite colours?
