Picture Polish Marine

It was only after I had painted my nails that I thought that looks very much like Barbara Cartland colours! (years ago I saw a programme about Barbara Cartland a romantic novelist in her eighties and my memory from that show was that she always dressed in baby pink almost ballroom type dresses with turquoise eyeshadow) Hmmm anyway moving on, just look at that teal blue can't you just picture the most amazing holiday destination with the ocean that colour? I certainly can! And this was just the one coat too.

The pink is most definitely a baby pink its Sally Hansen First Blush a very sheer polish that took three coats to achieve the opacity shown here.

On to my mani then, three coats of Sally Hansen First Blush, then one coat of Seche Vite followed by half an hour wait to make sure it was perfectly dry. Next stage I actually did my nails one at a time by, first taping a diagonal and then just one yes I said one coat of Picture Polish Marine on the untaped half. I then carefully took that tape off before moving on to the next nail. When I had finished both hands I then did the bright pink dots with Templespa Positano, using my new dotting tool from Avon which was a gift from my sister in the UK. After allowing the dots to dry abit, I then used one coat of Seche Vite. The Sally Hansen First Blush and Templespa Positano were both gifted to me from a good friend who was returning to the UK sans nail polish!

Femme Fatale - A Tisket A Tasket

I've had Femme Fatale A Tisket A Tasket for a long time and I have worn it before, but alas alack no pictures! But not this time, in the brief dry spell between all the rain we have been having recently I was able to  quickly take these photos. Femme Fatale A Tisket A Tasket is a beautiful sheer white base with lots of shimmer plus apple green, green and pink various sized hexes plus my favourite tiny teal squares.

Having finally got my hands on Ulta3 Corsican Rose a beautiful soft green, after stalking every Ultra 3 outlet I could think of I thought this would be the perfect undies for Femme Fatale A Tisket A Tasket. So on to my mani then, this was three coats of Ultra 3 Corsican Rose with two coats of A Tisket A Tasket followed by a topcoat of Seche Vite.

If you would like your own Femme Fatale nail polish then visit Femme Fatale Cosmetics besides the excellent service you will receive from Sophie you can also satisfy your lemmings for certain other Indie polishes.

Pretty Serious - Santa's Sunburn

Yes I know I'm late to the party! But I have finally turned up, we are talking about Pretty Serious Santa's Sunburn part of their Christmas collection. Santa's Sunburn is a bright red foil with silver sparkles, although I must admit I found it really hard to see the silver as I was convinced it was gold! My Chinese customers were really in awe of this polish declaring it Chinese red and very auspicious!

On to my mani then, three coats of Pretty Serious Santa's Sunburn, two would have been enough but I was going for depth as I knew this polish would be very glowy! Followed by a top coat of Seche Vite. Due to the fact I do my mani's at night and a distinct lack of time I seem to be taking my pictures towards the end of my mani's so this was probably taken on day four or five which means the teeniest bit of tip wear so please excuse that, because this polish is so pretty!

Crows Toes - Something To Talk About!

Another winner from Crows Toes! I'm talking about Crows Toes springThis Collection Season Of The Witch, I mean look have you ever seen such a gorgeous polish? This is a black base with colour shifting flakes that change from the most gorgeous green to purple/fuchsia. These colour shifting flakes are the most sparkly I have ever seen so much so that you could mistake them for glitter.

That gorgeous green sparkle making an appearance in this photo, so on to my mani then, three coats of Crows Toes Season Of The Witch. Two coats would have been more than enough but I chose to do three for depth followed by a Seche Vite top coat.

These photos were taken on day five so there is the tiniest bit of tip wear (to be expected I think when you don't wear gloves to scrub the shower and bathroom!), but you can also see how long lasting Crows Toes polishes actually are.

You can buy your own Crows Toes along with several other indie brands including her own line Femme Fatale from Sophie at Femme Fatale Cosmetics. Her service is amazing and I'm sure you will be pleased with what you order.

Old Mani's, Not Seen Before!

Today I thought it would be a good idea to show you some of my other mani's not making it on to my blog for one reason or another.... feel free to comment..

So I finally get my mitts on OPI Original and straight away do my mani I believe this was three coats. Around the same time I had received some stamping plates from a blog sale, so whilst the husband was at work I stamped silver flowers with Sally Hansen Celebrity City. Well, my stamping is not that great still being new to that particular nail art, (read fail) and OPI Original is such a pretty light purple holographic colour that I just did one thin coat over the top of my stamping fail! The result was my mani looked like faded wallpaper, but the holographic greatness saved it!

One of the beauty counters at David Jones has a bucket of their own branded polish sat there just waiting to be rifled through, which I duly did and came  up with this gem named Goldfish and I must admit it is the most anaemic goldfish I have ever seen, I like the orange ones far better. David Jones Goldfish is a very fine pale gold glitter, this I think was probably three coats and a Seche Vite topcoat.

And lastly  OPI The Spy Who Loved Me, I was playing around with hand poses etc. etc. and I really like this picture. OPI sure know how to make brilliant saturated colours!

Crows Toes Love Stinks

Well! what can I say about a new discovery of mine? In trying to move away from glitter but still have interesting and flashy nails, I have found Crows Toes fits the bill perfectly. So much so, I went and bought the entire new collection springThis! (this would be the third time excluding two sets of Trio's)While I was at it, I also bought Crows Toes Love Stinks part of their anti-Valentines Day collection, shown here in full sunlight. Love Stinks is a beautiful hot pink with a very noticeable blue shimmery flash.

On to my mani then, Picture Polish Revolution base coat just in case I decided on glitter later, I didn't this Love Stinks is just gorgeous all by itself! Three coats of Crows Toes Love Stinks followed by a Seche Vite top coat. Crows Toes is a perfect polish and wears like iron. I applied my mani Wednesday night and I am still wearing it now without a chip or tip wear in sight. And I can't wait to try out the rest of the colours I have!

If  you would like to buy your own Crows Toes you can purchase them from Femme Fatale Cosmetics their service is amazing.
